Hello! Wow, ok this was supposed to be up over a week ago, but my family has been so. sick. non-stop. I have started praying a hedge of protection for my family against any schemes or attacks against our bodies, because it’s honestly gotten that ridiculously overwhelming. BUT WITH THAT SAID. This morning, we are all decent feeling minus some snot, and I am getting up the boys’ wish lists.
Baby Girl Gift Guide
It’s tiiiiime! I feel like anytime I see Christmas related content at this point, Instagram has ruined me and I hear that ring through my brain. If you don’t know what I am talking about… well, don’t worry about it. It’s a trending audio hehe. I took a poll on IG and you guys voted to space out my gift guides so today I am sharing my baby girl guide! I still can’t believe I get to say that. I focused on heirloom items and things I won’t want to keel over from in two weeks.

Christmas Is COMING!
It doesn’t take much at all to know I am a Christmas girl. The rest of the year revolves around getting one day closer to a semi socially acceptable time to put up my tree. So, it also is no surprise I have my lists going and my eye on items for my babies as I am trying to decide our budget and what to get them this year. I am really sticking to simple and less. I am hoping to get each kid 1 “large” item and then a couple little things to pair. Then, we will do stockings from Santa with what I hope to be one gift for all three kids from him.
While we certainly won’t be purchasing everything show below or in the Amazon Littles List, these are what our ideas currently are! I hope to have shopping done early and the entire season to just have fun, sans worry or last minute shopping.
Here’s what I am looking at:

A New Routine
Every month I tell myself “This is the month to truly start writing again.” Are blogs dead? Well, maybe. But according to my most recent marketing email from some guru, they’re not. So I am here. It’s pretty wild that I started writing online ten years ago in college when a blog was some ethereal thing people did mostly to share random thoughts about people and living life on their own for the first time. RIP Mostly Because It’s True, my first blog that my mom and dad read along with random people who started to care about the random (often embarrassing) things I had to say. Here I am now, 31 years old with three kids who, because it’s Tuesday, are not here but out with my mom and dad or at school for the whole day. And I find myself sitting on a stool at my kitchen counter with a literal 3 liter Ozarka water bottle in front of me because water is important, right? And waiting to leave for my chiropractor appointment for my messed up back. I actually just laughed out loud at that. Getting older is so weird. Although, laughably enough, not so different from 21 year old me to 31 year old me… Taylor Swift is currently playing as I write. So, I supposed not everything changes. 😉 Just your joints. And, well, far more important things in life that turn for the better. I am so thankful.
If you didn’t know, my oldest son started Kindergarten this year. I wept approximately 9 days and then got it together. I signed up to be a room mom, naturally, and buy his teacher gifts as often as I can. Because, honestly, she is precious and I also cannot fathom being in a room full of 25 5 years olds all day. God bless. I thought it could be fun to share a typical day in the Morrison home as a mommy of 3 and as entrepreneurs/pastors. My weekly schedule is typically about the same, but Tuesdays my kids are with my parents/K is at school of course. And right now, every T/TH I have a Chiro appointment as we fix and realign my body after four pregnancies and a lot of relational hits over the last three years that the stress of has all literally gone and sat right on my neck from. We also have a nightly small group every Wednesday, and I host a mommy group at my home every other Thursday!
A Typical Day at The Morrison Home
5:30 AM: First of all, I must be honest because my husband will read this. This doesn’t happen EVERY day. But my best days start between 530-6 AM. However, some nights I go to bed knowing I would do better not to set my alarm for the morning because my body is saying “please sleep.” But, in the best day scenario, I pour a cup of coffee that my husband set to brew the night before for 5 AM. I grab my Bible Study (currently doing the Esther study from DGC) and my phone for my Lectio Scripture meditation.
6:15-6:30: Typically this is when the babies start to rise. Knox is always first. Rory can sleep to 7 if he is undisturbed while most days Coco will wake up around 6:15-6:30. I make the kids breakfast, pour a second cup of coffee, and get the kids all dressed to go to school!
7:20: We walk out the door to walk to school. The boys love getting to scooter to school and I take Coco in the stroller. It’s about a half mile round trip to school and back (we are so blessed!). We are expected to have a very icy winter according to almanac, so we are soaking in these morning for as long as we possibly can! I will usually take the long way home with Rory and Coco for a little extra time outside before heading home.
8 AM: We play a little and clean up the home from the morning chaos before Chloe goes down for her morning nap. She almost always goes to nap 2 hours to the DOT after she woke up. So it’s all dependent on that, but usually is about 8:45-9 AM!
9 AM: Rory gets to watch a show while I work out in the garage. I have my Peloton still and I LOVE IT, as much as ever. I may do a 10 minute low impact ride to warm up and then do a barre workout!
10 AM: I have showered and will typically unload the dishwasher while Rory either finishes up a nap/rest time. Then we will go upstairs to play while I fold laundry.
11:30 AM: Make lunch and hang out until Coco wakes up!
11:30-1:30 PM:Play time/Errands/Play dates
2 PM: Rory plays/colors/watches afternoon show while I do another load of dishes or laundry, or clean up a room in the house.
2:40 PM: Leave to walk over to school for KC
3 PM: Home, Knox naps, Chloe takes afternoon nap, I watch a show or debrief from the day with a podcast while Paul plays with Rory! **He leaves by 7:30 every day for work to be home for K’s pick up!
4:30 PM: Survival. JK. But this is when I start to pray for energy and patience. I start dinner and we begin picking up the home for our night time routine!
5-6 PM: Family time, dinner
6-7:30 PM: Baths, pick up rooms, family couch time, pick a show together, read a book, etc.
7:45 PM: BED TIME!
8 PM: Mom and dad catch up, watch a show, likely sit in silence for at least 30 minutes before we can think… hehe
That’s it! This is a typical day and for sure my usual routine. But, of course, this can vary day to day!
