Hey y’all! My name is Hannah Morrison, and I run this little corner of the internet mostly from my couch with my goldendoole, Presley, by my feet (or quite possibly on top of me).
The Cake by Hannah is my blog where I focus on relationships, marriage, life, fashion, and just overall encouragement to be kind to one another. It ain’t always easy navigating this crazy thing of life, but I like to be honest about all of my experiences to help you feel/realize you are totally normal. And, bonus, we can look good while doing it. 😉
The Cake Shop is an extension of The Cake by Hannah, my own line of tees and prints, that are meant to remind us to spread kindness like buttercream frosting- generously and without reserve.
I am all about kissing my hubby, snuggling my doodle, old farmhouses, eating cake (because, why not?), affordable fashion (hey000 budget life!), my faith, my church, and small town living. Oh, AND, that whole baby thing, because we are expecting our first baby this December! We can’t wait to be parents, and I will be sharing our whole journey through pregnancy and preparing to be mom and dad as honestly and openly as possible.
If you like what you see, be sure to subscribe to The Cake by Hannah (directly to the right of this) and get my weekly emails!

WHY “THE CAKE”?
It’s the idea that what is said here is sweet. It ‘takes the cake’, so to speak. Amidst all the messiness in the world, I hope when you come to The Cake you read something refreshing. I hope it brings joy, life, and satisfaction. When I take a bite into a good piece of cake, the world stops for just a second and I forget my worries. I go to cake when I am sad, I go to cake when I am happy. Cake is just good, you know what I mean?
I believe in being real, eating cookies at 10 PM, and embracing imperfection. Because, life’s too short not to.
HOW DID WE GET HERE?
I moved wide-eyed and terrified from a tiny town of 4,000 for school in 2010 at Dallas Baptist University, never actually having been to Dallas before, where I studied Broadcast Communications and Writing (I graduated in December 2013). I met my husband, Paul, in 2011 one night at church and married him in February of 2014. We lived in Dallas for the first two years of marriage, and we loved it. In the fall of 2015, we took a huge leap of faith and moved 30 minutes north to be part of a church plant in Mckinney, Texas where we knew a total of 0 people. It turned out to be the best decision we could have ever made. Paul is the Youth and Young Adults pastor at our church, and I help lead worship on Sundays & run The Cake by Hannah & my online store The Cake Shop from home.
My hope as a writer is to be unashamedly honest about myself in order to help other girls feel normal and capable of speaking up about their similar struggles. We are all fighting the same battles in our own respect, but somewhere along the way we have been convinced it is shameful to be going through what we are experiencing in life. We have been told a million different things to be, but they just aren’t us. This is a bunch of bologna, and just frankly is not how we should live. Whatever it is you’re going through, I promise you aren’t alone in it. That’s where I have decided to speak up, be a light where darkness has tried to overcome. I have chosen to remove the mask, expose the real day to day, to show you truth.
None of us have it all together. That should be so comforting.
My hope specifically as a “blogger” is to give honest reviews of products, places, and clothing- only giving you what I truly believe is worth the time or money. Like my honesty about life, so am I about my wardrobe and products.
More than anything in this world, I am a lover of Jesus Christ, thankful to be saved by grace. He is who I hope you see in absolutely everything I ever post.
So here we are- I am inviting you into my home, my closet, and my marriage -all walls down- to prove that being real is a lot more fun than trying to present a false self to the world.
Important: Absolutely everything shared on The Cake has been tested and used by me + is a product/item I would personally encourage you to purchase.
