Hey, hey and happy Friday! If you’ve been around here a while, you know we are in our first home and that I LOVE all things home decor & reno. It’s been a slow crawl getting the home filled up, but every single new thing we add or do makes me love our home somehow even more. Up next we are FINALLY painting our master bathroom (and finishing the guest), and adding some final touches to our master bed room. I believe light fixtures and rugs are just as important as the paint color, and I have rounded up my favorites that won’t break the bank!
Whoa, I cannot deal with the fact I will be 27 in 10 days. That means it’s been 10 years since I was in high school… Yikes. That is so crazy to think about! But, I gotta say, my mid-twenties have been the best years of my life so far. And I know it will only keep getting better. Getting older has honestly been so much fun, and I can’t wait to see what else comes along in the next ten years!
Turning 27, it’s laughable when I look at my birthday wish list compared to what it would have been 5 years ago. I actually had to force myself not to put things I want for Knox on my birthday wish list. In all seriousness, I would just love my house projects done and for some flower beds… HA. You know, my bathrooms and my laundry room painted. Maybe some new shelving organization for my pantry… HA. Maybe get my house power washed? #priorities But I am sharing my list today of things a little more fun than those, and I am pretty pumped about it. From make-up to candles to new pieces for the home, this is what 27 looks like. 😉 I would have skin care on here, too, but I am currently fully stocked on that. (I will be doing a review soon of two items SO WORTH the money and hype!)
Love y’all so much! Thanks for doing life with me and celebrating milestones along the way through this little corner of the internet. Now where are all my June babies at?!
Let’s just face the facts… I love my coffee maker. Like, if I wrote love songs, I would definitely write one for Nigel, my Ninja Coffee Maker. I heard about this one from Lauren Sims, and trust her reviews on basically anything. Two months later and we still wake up pumped to drink our morning coffee! It’s sleek, looks lovely on my counter top, and -most importantly- makes a fantastic pot of coffee.
I don’t do super “high-tech” anything. I can barely handle my iPhone, to be honest. I like simplicity. The Ninja Coffee Maker is simple, but has just enough excitement for me to get a little giddy and not at all overwhelmed.
- Preset Time- We literally wake up to our coffee made.
- A variety of pot and cup sizes- You can set for a full pot all the way down to a single cup.
- A variety of brew types- We always do rich! (Classic, Rich, Over Ice, Cold Brew, and Specialty!)
- Milk frother- I LOVE THIS. I make myself a latte every afternoon usually with either coconut, almond, or oat milk. It’s a nice pick me up!
I have been wanting a Nespresso machine, but haven’t wanted to spend the money on the machine itself nor the upkeep of the pods. With the Ninja though, I actually don’t feel I need one. It’d just be a little repetitive of what Ninja offers me with the frothed milk. *But don’t get me wrong- Nespresso definitely has a great flavor and uniqueness to it!* If you’re on a budget, though, Ninja is definitely the option I would suggest.
Below, I have other gadgets and appliances we use weekly, if not daily! *and a couple on my buy list!*
Crockpot- We have this one and it’s a lifesaver.
Ninja Blender- We use this a lot!
KitchenAid- We have a white one, but the copper is on my dream list!
Smeg Toaster- This is on my “want it” list! We actually currently don’t own a toaster… we seriously need to get one.
T3 Micro Hair Drier- I know this isn’t a “home appliance” but I use it daily and want to keep sharing it with you, because it’s 100000% worth the money. My hair dries in minutes with this!
iLife Robo Vac- Y’all know I love my robo vac!
iLife Robo MOPPER- This is next on my buy list!!!
Other gadgets we love:
It’s May and that means Mother’s Day is just around the corner! I have rounded up some of my favorite gift ideas for those mamas in your life at a variety of price points. From your own mama, to your grandma, to your besties, or -to all you guys reading this because your girl sent it to you…- your wifey. 😉
Whatever you do, be sure to celebrate those mamas in your life. You don’t have to spend a bunch of money at the end of the day to show a woman you’re grateful for them. A “thank you” to the mamas in your life go far. The blood mamas, the foster mamas, the adoptive mamas. Celebrate the women in your life who pour their heart and soul into helping raise up the next generation. The women who are helping shape the future, one tiny set of hands at a time.
So, alas, here are my unique gift ideas for those special women!
- Fawn Design Circle Bag:
Y’all know I love my Fawn Design Diaper Bags! But, they just released a beautiful new leather purse for only $79!

Today I am pumped to share my spring cleaning knock out list + a review of our iLife Robo Vacuum that I got for Christmas! I don’t know about you, but I function best in a clean home. If my home is frazzled and a mess, my life is usually a direct reflection of that. I try to, most nights, clean up the house and put things back where they belong to wake up to a put together space. It helps me start on the right foot for the day!
For my big cleaning I do a few times a year, I knock things out in chunks. I try to keep up with these things as best I can in general, but it just rarely all happens. I love a good intentional cleaning every quarter or so to really get the home back to top notch. This list is in addition to my daily/weekly tasks like cleaning counters in the kitchen and bathrooms, floors, and toilets.
Day 1, Baseboards, Fans, Chandeliers, and Windows: Dust and scrub! These are all dustier and grosser than you think.
Day 2, Bathtubs/Showers: I spray our shower about once a week with a general cleaner, but a scrubbing is so necessary and I don’t even realize how dull our white tiles get until I spend time scrubbing. The hard water in our area make a rusty looking build up happen and it is so icky.
Day 3, Closets: I got rid of 12 bags this month y’all. TWELVE. If you didn’t wear something in its due season within the last year, chunk it. You won’t wear it like you keep telling yourself you will next year. I got rid of tons of tees also that I was nostalgic for, but really haven’t worn in 5+ years.
Last year I bought matching hangers for my closet for all of my items, and it made the over feel of my closet less cluttered. Now this year, we are buying bins to fit under our bed and putting away winter clothes during spring and summer and then visa versa. I want LESS CLUTTER.
Day 4, Pantry and Fridge: It’s incredible what accumulates in my pantry and freezer. It’s time to toss anything that shouldn’t be there or won’t be eaten! Take out everything in your fridge, scrub it with safe cleaners, and organize your shelves. Drinks on a shelf, left-overs on another, condiments on the door, baby food in a section, vegetables in another… YEP. I love opening my fridge and seeing it well-organized.
Day 5, Furniture: I have an upholstery cleaner and take to our sofa and love seat a few times a year to give it a good cleaning! All of our pieces around the home get wiped from time to time… but on day 5 of my knock out list I get the good dusting spray and get every nook and cranny. All of our mirrored pieces and frames get a cleaning with a glass and window cleaner.
Day 6, Cabinets: Time to get rid of outdated medicine and make-up! There are drop-off locations for medicine if it is prescriptions you never finished. Get rid of make-up you don’t use, lipstick that is done, etc. Clean it out and keep only what you actually use!
Day 7, Linens and Towels: Get rid of any that are just taking up space or unused anymore. Clean the rest and finish off your clean home with some freshly cleaned sheets! It is like the cherry on top of the sundae!
The iLife Robo Vac: GET IT. Having a robo vacuum was worth the money y’all. I don’t have to vacuum our dark hardwood floors anymore -a former daily task- which is such a relief and gave me a little bit of my sanity back. It’s just one less thing I need to do! I know there’s a ton of different robo vacs, but I am really pleased with the one we got.
The price is super affordable, but you don’t skimp on quality. It can do our entire house on one charge + without needing to empty the vacuum. We have had this one 4 months now, and I feel it’s very good quality. It doesn’t have bluetooth, so you can’t turn it on from your phone or anything… but for about $150 less than other options on the market… I am okay with that ha.
I for real have a robo vac as a mommy-to-be gift now in the back of my mind for my friends. It’s such a help! I cannot suggest it enough. (It’d make a great Mother’s Day gift, too!!)
