“For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.” Song of Solomon 2:11-12
The freshness of spring is right around the corner, and with it coming all the scents of the season as it makes its faithful return. I have kept our balcony doors open the last few days during the day as I work, and it’s been like welcoming an old friend over to hang out. You don’t have to talk much, but you just like being with each other.
I love every season for what it is, and I get giddy with each season’s approach. Spring brings about a sense of hope and newness in us. I love the idea that, in spring, we celebrate Easter, which is no mistake. Just as the season represents hope and the return to life of that which died in the winter, so it is a representation of what Jesus brought for us through his work on the cross.
Life from death, a resurrection, a fulfillment of what was promised to us for so many years.

That’s what we get to be reminded of every time spring comes back around. Fresh life breathed back into our lungs, new ideas birthed, new goals set, new outlooks and perspective decided, and a reminder of our need of a savior.
I don’t know about you, but I need some new outlooks to take over my mind this spring. I need some hope. I need some new perspective. I need the cold of winter to find the sunshine. Do you know what I mean?
So here’s to celebrating the sun’s return. Here’s to saying “I am hopeful and excited for the next chapter, this next season.”
I love the seasons, because it shows God is who he says he is and remains who he was thousands and thousands of years ago when he established the earth. Just as the seasons remain constant, so is our God. What an awesome reminder he has placed for us. It’s always bitter cold before life springs back. There is always a time for the leaves to fall, and a time for growth. (Eccl. 3- paraphrased)
“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22
I hope you are reminded today as the sun peeks out of God’s faithfulness, or if where you live hasn’t quite started to see the signs of spring- wait patiently! The return is on the horizon.
Love y’all deeply!
xoxo- Han
