Pure Barre Platform: An Interview With Amanda

April 28, 2016

Hey hey pretty people!

First and foremost, is anybody else semi freaked out it’s already almost May? I feel like it was just Christmas… time seriously flies the older I get and it is starting to scare me. I don’t want to wake up and I just missed everything- you know what I mean? The older I get, the more I understand how my parents used to be like, “Oh wasn’t that just a couple years ago?” And you would be like, “uh, no. that was ten years ago.” THAT IS BECOMING ME.

Anyways, NONE of that has to do with today’s post. Today’s post is all about a new workout at Pure Barre called Platform. I am SO EXCITED about it, and I know you will be, too. I have been hearing about the coming of Platform since last summer when I worked at PB Coppell, and have anxiously been awaiting its arrival ever since. Platform is a new cardio aspect to Pure Barre hitting every studio across the nation, and I got to ask owner of Pure Barre Allen + McKinney all about it!

Amanda is a fellow former college dancer- an SMU pom squad member- with a passion for fitness and helping women feel confident. While getting her degree from Southern Methodist University in accounting (she is brains, too, people!), she started taking classes at Pure Barre Dallas right by campus. She loved it instantly, and the rest was history. Amanda now is the owner of two different Pure Barre locations in North Texas, and she is just a doll. When she isn’t at the barre, Amanda loves hanging with her pups, Annabelle and Olivia.

Read all about Platform below, and don’t forget- THIS WEEKEND is open house at Pure Barre Allen + McKinney. This means FREE CLASSES to give this Pure Barre thing a shot. If you are interested, check out the list of classes here and here.

H:  First off, I know we are going to focus on this new aspect of Pure Barre called Platform (!!!!), but tell me about you! What’s your history with fitness, and what led you to Pure Barre?

A:  I consider myself a fitness guru.  I’ve tried just about every type of workout.  The first Pure Barre studio opened in Dallas my senior year of college at SMU.  From the first class, I was hooked!  I knew there was something different about this workout: I loved the workout itself, saw huge changes in my body, and loved the people involved.  I was trained to be an instructor shortly after.  Fast forward five years, here I am: an owner of two Pure Barre studios!  I can’t say enough about how Pure Barre changed my life.  I love to lift, tone and burn!

H: Now what is Platform? How is this going to differ/ add to the regular Pure Barre work out?

A: Platform is a whole new animal.  Think Pure Barre meets cardio.  It’s the perfect complement to Pure Barre’s more traditional, toning classes.  Get ready to sweat and burn TONS of calories!

H: Who is Platform for?

A: Platform, like Pure Barre, truly is for everyone!  If you can hold on to the barre, you can do Platform.  If you are looking for the perfect cardio workout, Platform is your answer.

H: If I have an injury, can I still do Platform or should I stick to the original Pure Barre workouts?

A: Similar to traditional Pure Barre classes, injuries can also be accommodated in Platform classes.  Talk to your instructor before class so they can walk you through modifications to get the most out of your workout.

H: Where have you seen people challenged the most in Platform?

A:  From start to finish, I can’t say there is part of the workout that isn’t challenging!  If I had to choose, I would say thigh work is the most challenging for me.

H: What do YOU love the most about Platform?

A: I love the energy of the class!  It’s a fun, upbeat musically-driven class unlike any other workout I’ve ever done.

H: You have been in the Pure Barre family for a while now- What is it that is so special to you about Pure Barre?

A: Pure Barre brings all kinds of people together: all with similar goals.  New clients are welcomed by veterans and Pure Barre staff.  The studio environment is friendly and positive.  The friendships you create at Pure Barre are the life-long kind.  There is truly no place like Pure Barre!

So when am I going to see YOU at the barre? What are you waiting for? No workout has ever done for my body what this one does, and I know it will be the same for you, too!

If you want to go to open house this weekend, let me know! I will be there Saturday morning, so you can join me! (Also- if you are a fellow #CSFPartyGirl, don’t forget that you have some major perks waiting for you at Pure Barre!)

Happy Thursday! (Wait, wasn’t it JUST Monday?!)
