Recently LiketoKnow.it started showing up on my Instagram, and you’ve surely seen it on other fashion blogger or social influencer’s pages. If you are like many friends and fam I know (eherm, my momma!) there’s this lingering question as to what EXACTLY it is- well, I am here to help you understand what all LiketoKnow.it does.
Simply put: LiketoKnow.it is the answer to ALL your “Where did you get that from?” questions.
When I first began with LTK, I set aside hours to learn how exactly to make this tool the most helpful for the both of us. I can share sales, favorite buys, current items I have my eye on, and so much more. The quickest way to benefit from LiketoKnow.it is to simply sign up for free here, and then anytime you like a photo with a LTK link ALL the items will be directly sent to your inbox. Pretty awesome, right? It’s essentially like hiring me as your personal shopper on the daily. And did I mention it’s free to sign up? 😉
Second, you can shop my looks on my website here. This means if you missed a post or don’t have an Instagram, you can always go to this page to keep up with my Instagram feed. Lastly, my Wants and Finds page is where I keep a running line-up of my most recent + FAVORITE purchases, things I think are way too good not to share, or staple pieces I already own.
The absolute best part about LiketoKnow.it (or, honestly, following a blogger you like in general) is that you can guarantee I believe in every single item I ever share on The Cake. The reason so many of you enjoy following certain bloggers, whether me or someone else, is because of the obvious fact we are HUMANS- not some blind advertisement from people behind numbers who don’t care about what you spend your money on as long as you purchase their client’s products. I am unbiased, I am simply sharing with you items I found fantastic and felt confident enough in to purchase for myself. Likewise, you can always guarantee that if I try out a product and am unimpressed with it or the quality isn’t up to par, I will tell you. That’s the benefit of finding someone you trust on social media doing this “fashion blogging” thing. I set aside so much time and money every month to purchase items to, essentially, test out before you spend money on it yourself. This is the job I have created- it’s to help you! LiketoKnow.it now extends that and makes it so much easier- everything I find gets sent directly to you. The only items that are “paid for” on my site or Instagram are if you see #sponsored or #ad on my post. This means someone reached out to me and wanted me to talk about their product. But, before I ever share a sponsored post, I use or wear the product first to ensure I am sharing something I believe in. I definitely turn away items I don’t personally believe I would wear or use or like.
Like I said, I am a human wearing and using items, and then telling you about them if I find something worth telling you about.
Katey ‘McFarlan’ Hellman (AKA Chronicles of Frivolity), who I met through this crazy world of blogging (and is also the first person to ever sit down with me and help me get started with The Cake), wrote a piece entirely about this and it was so encouraging to read. Read it here. We don’t get paid to say anything. We get paid for the hard work we put into marketing a product for a company to use as their own, too. Writing, photos, curated content-it’s all the brand we have created, but only for items we actually like and believe in.
Annyyyway. (Said in your best Ellen voice.)
A good blogger is someone who is simply sharing their passions, be it clothing or life, with whoever feels like following along on this crazy thing we call social media. I have personally felt the community that has been built around The Cake (like, LAST MONTH when I got trolled!), and I cannot say thank you enough times for the genuine support I feel from all of you. When I say LiketoKnow.it is just as much a tool for you as it is for me, I mean it! My hope is to always find and share things that are high-quality and well-priced, and I want you to know about them in the simplest way possible. I won’t be constantly posting to you $800 studded Valentinos, because A. I def cannot afford those and B. I won’t waste your time with such expensive items if I cannot even afford them myself. (Though I would LOVE to have some of those babies in my closet)
I hope this is helpful, and if you have anymore questions- I would LOVE to answer them.
Now, about this outfit.
I recently did some basic spring shopping, and I ended up spending my budget on basic blouses I can pair with a good pair of denim and heels, and feel on top of the world in. Nothing makes me feel more put together than good denim, a flouncy blouse, and a cute wedge.
This blue and white blouse is one of those picks- I got it from Nordstrom and LOVE it. These shoes are from Sole Society, and I have basically lived in them. I get so many compliments on them that I might have to get the red pair, too!
