It’s t-minus 26 days until our due date, and I just can’t believe we’ve made it to this point. Pregnancy as a whole went by incredibly fast, yet still it feels like my first trimester packed full with nausea and food aversions was ages ago. Funny how that works, huh? Over the course of our pregnancy we moved into our first home and took on all the fun homeownership projects that entails. But, I have got to say, this nursery is my favorite project thus far (and most drastic we’ve done). Unfortunately, we shot the nursery for this partnership before the shiplap wall was installed and our rug was laid, so consider this part 1 of the nursery reveal. I will show all of the other fun bits and pieces of the room off in another post, I am sure.
But today, I am beyond thrilled to FINALLY share with you my nursery reveal in partnership with DaVinci Baby.
This collaboration has been in the works since April! I picked this beautiful set for Baby K, and now… ONE OF YOU LUCKY READERS is going to win the exact same one. You will receive this beautiful upholstered crib and matching dresser (baby changing table top attachable should you choose to do so). Entries are valid through Instagram.
As for the rest of this nursery, I have linked absolutely everything I possibly can for you to recreate this Classy Safari Nursery (that’s what I decided to officially call it…). I feel like if you say “zoo animals” or “safari jungle”, people immediately think of cartoony animals. But, I really didn’t want obnoxious or cartoony. This is, after all, a room I am going to be in the most and I wanted it pleasing to my eye while still being a little boy’s room. I love how bright and airy it turned out, full of neutral tones, and pops of orange. If you recall, originally I was wanting an entirely neutral bedroom -creams, ivory, tan, and light grey- but Paul really championed for some color and… I am really glad he did. Particularly, he fought for orange which happens to be his favorite color and my least favorite color. Marriage is all about compromise, right? We added orange through pops of it on our crib sheets, the lion throw, Gerald our giraffe, and even some of the books I intentionally chose to put on the shelf. We are so excited about how this room turned out, and I cannot wait for Baby K to be in it.
